Zarcero Organic

Our Zarcero Organic coffee is grown on three small but very beautiful organic farms in the highland mountains Certified organicnear Zarcero, Costa Rica. These coffee farmers have their own ecological micro-processing mill and sun-drying facility. These farms are not only organic but qualify as totally eco-friendly, shade-grown coffee farms. Ricardo’s coffee is certified by the Skal The owner Ricardo Perez's micro-mill has the prestige of being the highest elevation coffee mill in Costa Rica, situated at an elevation over 1,700 meters (almost 5,600 feet). It is located in picturesque Zarcero region famous for its dairy products and Switzerland-like mountain passes.

Ricardo PerezThis coffee is one of Costa Rica's finest and was one of the top three coffees in a national-level cupping competition in 2006. This coffee has a very special floral aroma with a clean citric taste, nicely bodied, perfectly uniform and offering a totally clean cup.

The picture at the top of this page features the Catholic church with cypress garden in downtown Zarcero. The town is famous for its delicious palmito cheeses.
